Michel Lasne
(1590–1667), was a French engraver, draughtsman and collector. Lasne was born in Caen and was the son of a goldsmith. He was a documented member of the Guild of Saint Luke for 1617-18, and probably worked under the direction of Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck. In 1633 he became the official engraver for King Louis XIII. There are 759 prints to his credit, including 23 portraits of the family of King Louis XIII. He died in Paris on December 4, 1667.
