Detail:
Un calque reproduisant le dessin à l'identique et placé sur la tête du petit Saint-Jean Baptiste de la "Vierge aux rochers" a permis d'observer que les deux têtes correspondaient parfaitement. Il s'agit d'un fragment de carton. Le dessin a été largement repris postérieurement.
