Vers 1880-1890. D'après un album de 101 photographies coloriées à la main : "Views and costums of Japan" édité à Yokohama.. Ces femmes se faisaient tatouer les lèvres, les bras et quelque fois le front, afin de se protéger des démons de la maladie.
