Balthasar Anton Dunker
(15 January 1746 – 2 April 1807), a landscape painter and etcher, was born at Saal, near Stralsund. He was a pupil of Jakob Philipp Hackert and of Vien, and was more distinguislied as an etcher than as a painter. His works are after Roos, Van der Does, Hackert, and Schutz, and consist of costumes and manners of the French before the Revolution, illustrations of books, and other miscellaneous subjects.
